Here's a Christmas card I created using The Stamps of Life Penguins stamp set !! I hope you like it.  It's pretty simple because I will be donating it to KARDS FOR KIDS and you cannot have any embellishments that can be pulled off and swalled (i.e. buttons, brads, beads, ribbon, etc.).  I like the simplicity of the card, and of course also the cute little penguin!!

Holiday Card Boot Camp

Well...one more sleep 'til the Holiday Card Boot Camp starts online ! I'm soooo excited...I just love all the online classes put on by "onlinecardclasses.com" aka Kristina Werner and friends. It's so much fun to see how they use things, create things and it's just plain fun for the challenges offered. See more in the next few days. I hope to get creative each day with this boot camp !! Wish me luck !! <3

More Close to My Heart Digital Layouts

Here's another couple of CTMH Digital layouts I recently created !

Close to My Heart Digital Layouts

I have done several CTMH digital layouts recently, and am trying to complete Thomas' first year of school using the digital layouts to keep his school scrapbooks thinner than they might be if I do traditional/bulky scrapbooking. Here are some of the layouts I've done for his first year of School (Junior Kindergarden).

Update..since Summer Card Camp ended

Well...I was truly inspired by the Summer Card Camp, and am looking forward to participating in another couple of camps being put on by Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire. One is coming up in September, and then there's a Christmas card one in November...I can't wait !!

I've made a handful of cards since the camp ended, and also sorted some photos for some sb layouts I hope to get at sometime soon.

Yesterday I spent several hours with my pal Wanda and we worked creatively together...she worked on a layout from our Great Wolf Lodge trip in March, and I completed a card kit of Christmas cards (12 completed Christmas cards, and 6 Christmas tags)...woo hoo !! We hope to get together again really soon and carry on with our achievements !!

I will try to photograph some of the cards I've made recently and post them soon !!

Summer Card Camp - Week 4 - Card 5

Here's another card I created with this week's colour scheme...again using my new favourite (RETIRED) SU Screen stamp...Signo white gel pen, and some K & Company chipboard & elements I've had in my stash for a long time...glad to be finally using it !! It's loosely based on one of Kristina Werner's sketches from Week 1 of the Card Camp !!

Summer Card Camp - Week 4 - Card 4

Here's a card I created to thank a friend for getting a tow for our broken down Mustang last week. (fuel pump) I'm pleased with how it turned it...simple but still somewhat elegant. Inks are SU, Mustang stamp is from Rubbernecker, sentiment is from The Stamps of Life, the turquose background paper is stamped with my NEW favourite background stamp (RETIRED screen from SU). I used my watercolour marker and my Taken with Teal ink to colour the Mustang in...the shading isn't the best but I'm working on improving my colouring skills !! the black behind the Mustang image is embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder (little circle - like wheels).

Summer Card Camp - Week 4 - Card 3

Here's another card inspired by this weeks colour combo, and Kristina Werner's sketch. The star stickers are unknown, the "You're a Star" stamp is from The Stamps of Life; ink is SU Taken with Teal, the background stamp is a retired SU stamp that looks like a screen. I had fun creating this card this morning...and aside from the star stickers being WAY TOO sticky (thus a little crooked); it was pretty quick and easy !!

Card Camp Week 4 - Thomas' card

Here's what my 4 1/2 year old son Thomas created...

He had a lot of fun colouring in the image. I showed him the colours for the week, and he picked the appropriate coloured pencil to use. The stamps are from The Stamps of Life. The pocket on the t-shirt is a light green, but hard to see with the photo. He is very excited to see his card on "The Internet".

Summer Card Camp - Week 4 - Card 2

I crocheted the three flowers as soon as I saw the colour scheme for this weeks camp, but couldn't come up with a really good way to use them on a card. I played quite a bit with stitched stems and hand-cut cardstock stems, then settled for the CTMH stem from a floral set I had. Again, I had a difficult time incorporating all the colours (especially the pear green and sky blue); the embroidery floss used to make the flowers covered the teal and turquoise and white quite nicely. Overal, when I finished the card I was pleased with it.

Summer Card Camp - Week 4 - Card 1

I struggled with this weeks colour combo, but came up with a similar card to last week for another friend who has just moved, so if it looks familiar, it is !! The inks I used were brocade blue (sky); tempting turquoise, taken with teal (all SU); I used a light green cardstock to bring in the pear green colour. I also put it on a kraft card (hope this is okay as it's neutral). The Stamp set is from CTMH, and the ribbon is simply white satin ribbon that I stamped with the little flower from the stamp set (you can't see it really well tho!); the background turqoise cardstock was also stamped with the little flower from the set . I used my Signo White gel pen to add the stitching details and white dots.

Summer Card Camp Week 3 - Card 2

Here's another card I created with this weeks colour scheme. I just loved this CTMH stamp set and had to have it. This is a card I made for a friend who is moving into a new place this month ! I hope she likes it !! I created it with all the colours except white, so I went back with my Signo White Gel pen and added the pen stitching. I think it really adds to the card !!

A couple of Sympathy cards

Unfortunately I have gone through a few Sympathy cards this past couple of weeks, so I wanted to make a couple more. Here's what I came up with...very simple...just sponged ink and stamped image ! The tree stamps are "Lovely As A Tree" by SU. Inks are also SU ! I used a 4x6 photo mat (from a frame I had) as the template for the sponging !

Summer Card Camp - Week 3

Here's my first submission for Week 3's card! I used two shades of brown, but couldn't get the effect of light and dark brown, so I used the buttons in a couple of shades to make sure I incorporated all the colours. There is a red strip of paper under the buttons, but it doesn't show well in the photo. This was a reltively quick and easy card, and I think it looks pretty good ! Overall, I'm quite pleased with it. The stamps are Hero Arts, Stampin' Up inks (chocolate chip, soft seude and real red); scallop punch SU, cardstock (Reflections/Michael's); buttons from a stash of old buttons !

Summer Card Camp - Week 2 - card 2

Here's a second card I made today using the Week 2 colours. Again, the photo doesn't do the colours justice, but I think it looks pretty darn cute !

Bunny stamp is Close to My Heart, greeting is The Stamps of Life; watercolour pencils used, cardstock Reflections (Michael's); linen thread (unknown supplier).

Summer Card Camp - Week 2

I'm very excited to have joined the Summer Card Camp by Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire. Although week one is over and week two has begun, I'm finally getting started. I hope to get a few cards made using the week two colour scheme sometime tonight and my goal is to post them to the blog.

Well...I completed my card last night (pat on the back for me!!) The photo doesn't do the colours justice, but I used my watercolour pencils to create the two shades of orange and the light green...the mats around the coffee pot are the watermelon and dark green ! I was very pleased with how this turned out...didn't take too long either.

Coffee stamps are SU, Scallop punch SU, cardstock is unknown, rhinestones are SU, Woodgrain stamp is All Night Media.

Teacher Thank You cards

I'm working on making a couple of Teacher thank you cards, for Thomas' JK teacher, the principal, the school secretary, the lunchroom supervisor and the two bus drivers he has. I've stamped the basic part of the card (a stick-boy from The Stamps of Life) and he's going to colour the shirt and shorts in, and add a Spiderman sticker to each t-shirt. I've also stamped "Thank you" on the top of the card and he can write the person's name at the bottom of the card ! I will post a photo when I'm done a couple of them (wth Thomas' help of course)!

The boy & thank you stamps are The Stamps of Life, the ruler, pencils and ABC stamps are Hero Arts (I think); cardstock is Reflections from Michael's
